Marcus Spence
Under the radar, Marcus Spence has been a key individual behind many notable projects in the entertainment industry today.
Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, Marcus's mind was set early to work in the world of media. Earning a degree in Mass Communications in Norfolk V.A., in 2001, he began his path to becoming a prominent figure in the business of entertainment.
Currently living in Los Angeles, CA. and working along side one of the music industry's most influential producers, Timbaland, Mr. Spence is not a stranger to success.
With a strong music management history behind him, in 2006 Marcus became the President of Timbaland's highly celebrated record label “Mosley Music Group”. Home to multi-platinum pop, hip-hop, r&b, and rock artists such as Nelly Furtado, Chris Cornell, One Republic, Keri Hilson, and Timbaland himself, Marcus's responsibilities are unmatched.
Prior to assuming the title role at the label, Marcus was the Vice President for the Interscope distributed imprint Beat Club from January of 2001 to June of 2004. At Beat Club, Marcus worked with the female MC Ms. Jade and with gold-selling rapper Bubba Sparxxx whose 2003 album Deliverance is widely regarded as one of the best and most ambitious hip-hop albums of the decade.
Spence also holds the title of President at the newly formed “Mosley Media Group,” which is a company created by himself and Timbaland strictly dedicated to producing Film and Television projects. With its first film “Vinyl” slated for production in the spring of 2009, Marcus is aimed to match the success of the record label making the brand an untouchable powerhouse.
A critic of film and television all his life, Marcus's goal is to remain fresh and innovative in every attempt. While keeping a close watch on the ever-changing media he's assertive in learning about the future of the business. Finding new ways to integrate, and fuse together different mediums while remaining appealing to audiences is by far a goal of his with Ten to One Entertainment. Marcus Spence is a frequently invited guest at various entertainment conferences including Urban Network. He also occasionally speaks with aspiring students in Grammy Award winning producer Randy Jackson's class at UCLA in California.
